Conveyancing for a new build is completely different to purchasing an existing property.  There are many conveyancing considerations associated with buying vacant land which require specialised legal knowledge.  These include: contract of sale, stamp duty, joint property ownership, completion clauses and cooling off periods.

Your solicitor will act as intermediary between you and the developer during your land purchase.  They can also run a series of searches to check for encumbrances and restrictions on your new property.
